Description of Ole Dich pump channels

The heart of a peristaltic pump is the channels. This is where an Ole Dich pump differs from all other pumps as it is extremely flexible. The A,B and L channels are interchangeable. In addition more or fewer channels, as required, may be fitted on any basic pump - however, of course not in excess of the number which the pump can handle. The channels automatically adjust themselves to all tube dimensions up to 6 mm external diameter, and they are designed to hold the tubes without the use of any external clamps. Moreover, Ole Dich pumps are designed to cause a minimum of wear on the tubes, for which reason the life of the tubes is very long.

Ole Dich pump heads are also suitable for building into analysis equipment, fermenters etc. We deliver the finished OEM solution ready for mounting with front plate, axle and bolts. You need merely to tell us the desired flow and the preferred tube thickness, and whether the peristaltic pulsations can be accepted or are preferably to be avoided. Then our specialists design and develop the most suitable pump to your requrements.

Channeltype ”A” Minimum pulsation.

• Pumpwheel with 6 pressure rollers.

• For tubes with inner diameter 0.1 – 4.0 mm.

• Wall thickness 0.8 – 1.0 mm.

Tubes

The pump tube must be of good elastic quality approx. 60 SHORE. We recommend the use of siliconerubber or soft PVC tube (Tygon). In fact it is possible to use all kind of tubematerials, as long as they are designed to be used in a peristaltic pump.

When selecting tube, take care of the following rules:

1. Tube life will increase or decrease in proportion to pump speed.

2. Halving pump speed will approxemately double the tube life

3. Pumping against 1 bar will result in halving the tube life.

4. Fluid temperature and chemical compatibility between the tube and fluid. (Choose  the correct tube material).

5. Numbers of pressure rollers. (6 rollers worn out the tube 3 times as fast as 2 rollers).

6. For best tube life it is very important to use a tube with an inner diameter maximum 2 times the wall thickness.

7. Keep speed moderate.
